I came across an ad for this facial on social media and decided to try it since it was near my place. My first visit was decent; they explained all the steps, and the extraction was gentle. So, I signed up for five sessions.
The subsequent sessions were okay, but closer to the end, they really started to hard-sell. I was already going to sign up for another five sessions, but the hard-selling was super annoying.
My worst experience was on my ninth appointment. I had asked for a 7 PM appointment, but they were only able to schedule it for 7:30 PM, which was no issue. However, once the facial started, the makeup removal took only about 10 seconds – from applying the liquid to her hands, to my face, wetting, and cleaning it off. There was zero effort in removing the makeup. During the eyebrow shaving, she screwed up one side of my brows. She over-shaved the front, even though she only had to remove the stray hairs. The extraction was extremely rough, too. The sessions before this were all okay, but I don't know why she had to use so much force.
Trying to hard-sell a product, she used it on my face. Once done, she still took a mirror to show me, saying it looked so bright, but all I could see were the super obvious red marks on my nose. She totally skipped all the massage parts on the face and shoulders. She just patted my back and was done. I don't know why she was rushing through the whole process when the facial felt like some steps were already left out, and a good amount of time I just spent waiting in the room. If you want to end work on time, then maybe just schedule me for another day. Why do I have to pay the same amount for this half-assed service?
After I was done, I still had to go into the dreaded consulting room to continue listening to her hard-selling, even though I had already rejected her so many times. After rejecting the product, she moved on to asking me to sign up for more sessions, even though I had already told her I would be moving overseas for work. She still insisted on asking me to take a package of five sessions, even though I told her I wouldn't be in Singapore. After I rejected the package, she went on to ask if I wanted to purchase the product again... Even at other times, there would be two of them hard-selling.
It's best to go to a more legitimate facial place – one that is more well-known, with less hard-selling, and more professional with better technology and tools. Here, it's just a bunch of masks and no suction tools, etc.; just some cooling blue light rolling thing that's like $30+ on Shopee. They also don't sanitize their tools, by the way. They just use them and rinse them with water. Sometimes, maybe not even that. You can hear them just putting them back into their little tool section. No proper sanitizing machines.
All in all, I feel a sense of dread going to this facial. Because every time you go, they will ask you to sign up for more. I don't even want to go for my last appointment anymore. Let you earn that money, then. I don't really know her name, maybe Pauline or something, but I think it's good for all the people working there to be aware of these issues. Also, please don't call your customers asking them to come for a facial or try to set up an appointment when it's not prompted or for unclear reasons.
