We consulted more than one ID, but we liked Chua Sze Leng of Spacious Planners (IMM) and her ideas more. It's a decision we're glad we made because we love what she's done with our home in Dakota Residences, and it was fun watching her blitz through the project efficiently and our dream home take shape so quickly, with so few hiccups.
'Spacious' is not a word one associates with the average Singapore home, yet that's precisely what we often think when we step into our apartment, so the company is well named. Working within a tight time frame, Sze Leng transformed our apartment into a light-filled, open, and tasteful home that always makes first-time visitors go 'Wow!' Needless to say, we have shared her contact with many family and friends who love her work.
Her decades-long experience in the industry shows in the soundness of her decisions (all made in consultation with us at every point) and the practical advice she gives.
She's extremely creative, carving functional spaces out of awkward, boxed-in corners, and wonderfully efficient in coordinating all the tradesmen and working within our condominium’s stringent rules about renovation. She's particular about workmanship, pointing out and correcting minor flaws that even we don't notice.
Perhaps what we most like about Sze Leng is that she designed our home specifically for our lifestyle and needs, present and future. And overarching all of these is her pragmatism; she's obsessed with creating a home that doesn't just look good but functions well and is easy to maintain and clean.
And even after the handover, Sze Leng's expertise and help is just a WhatsApp away. She responds immediately and fixes problems (even those that have nothing to do with the renovation) for us quickly. Knowing that help is close at hand gives us peace of mind.

We selected Vivi as our designer, even though their quote was not the cheapest we received. This was because Vivi went through her design ideas with us in greater detail than any other designer. She really gave our small apartment a lot of thought even before there was any prospect of getting paid.
We did not regret it. The home turned out better than we expected. Our small apartment is functional and well-designed. Even delivery people who deliver items here comment on how nice it is the moment I open the door. The quality of the workmanship appears to be solid. Time will tell.
Vivi attended to all the little defects and adjustments quickly and without any resistance. Her goal was to ensure that we were happy with our home and their work. I believe most customers are willing to pay if they get what they pay for, and I am happy to say that with Spacious Planners and Vivi, I do not suffer from buyer's remorse. I recommend them wholeheartedly. The culture of the firm and their attitude towards clients are first-rate.

I engaged Eunice from Spacious Planner as she was recommended to me by a friend. I decided to go with Spacious Planner due to the reasonable quotation. It's not the cheapest in the market, but you wouldn't want something cheap and of poor quality. The quality of work is decent, but what I loved best is Eunice's professionalism. Every single defect I found, she immediately arranged for her team to fix it. Throughout the design and planning phase, she also tries to understand what I like and what I envisage. She's also meticulous, and she will help point out any considerations that I miss. She's also very adaptive to my changes (which happens a lot). I would definitely recommend engaging Eunice for your future home!
