Terrible service for the third time in a row, and the food is consistently overcooked. The tea was extremely bitter, and they automatically added milk. When I politely said, “Sorry, I asked for no milk, I have an allergy,” they responded with aggression and rudeness. I had to buy tap water for 50 cents because the food was too spicy. I specifically asked for room temperature water, but they deliberately gave it to me boiling hot, like tea. The tea was served with a thin plastic spoon that started to deform from the heat—clearly unsafe, as the plastic begins to melt into the drink.
The glasses and utensils were stained and dirty, and the tables and chairs were smeared and sticky. They wipe everything down with a foul-smelling, moldy wet cloth. The place feels completely unsanitary. On top of that, the staff’s English is very poor—I’m honestly shocked they’re able to operate a business under these conditions.
There was barely any meat in the food—just carbs, bones, fat, and an overwhelming amount of spices. Despite all this, the prices are surprisingly high, which makes the experience even worse. Absolutely horrible place. I’ll never come back. I only went because I was in a rush and too hungry.

There are many food choices. The taste is just ok. We bought soto and mee soto with begedil. The begedil was not fresh. The Teh C that we ordered was too sweet, even when we asked them to lessen the sugar. There are plenty of seats. There is ample parking.

Located in IMM Outlet Mall, Singapore. Has table service. The food was average, and the service was not up to the mark.

I haven't been back here in a long time.
Ordered the Penang fried kway teow. It used to be $6.90; now it costs $10.20.
It tastes just as good. So is the tea.

Love the flavours of the food here. The chicken curry has strong hints of spices, and the meat is fresh and tender. I also really like the vegetables—they are very well cooked and have lovely flavours. But do note that the belachan is quite potent (I'm sensitive to spice). Definitely a worthwhile recommendation if you're into Nasi Padang.

My all-time favourite Nasi Pattaya. Another favourite food is Mee Goreng. Don't forget the Teh Tarik, making both perfect 👌. You must try the Sambal Chili; it's golden 👌. It's best to order before 7:30 PM.

My go-to eatery for nasi padang, mee rebus, and nasi pattaya, along with coffee and kueh lopez. I had nasi pattaya with kopi-c, and the bill was $12.90. Kueh ran out. The Nasi Pattaya portion was larger than on my last visit, probably to make customers “feel better” with the higher pricing. There was a good 15-minute wait as there were quite a few food delivery guys collecting orders ahead in the queue, who were not there when I ordered. It would help if they mentioned the approximate waiting time. The three prawns were of reasonable size. The fried rice was soggy and not fragrant. The sambal chilli was great, as usual, and helped. I'm giving this a miss on my next visit. The soggy texture of the fried rice spoiled, to some extent, what would otherwise be a great item on their menu.

Red Ginger has been at IMM for many years. They serve Malay food at reasonable prices and of consistent quality. The beef is cooked until tender. We spent about $12 per person for our lunch, which included teh-o and kueh. Besides mee-siam and mee-rebus, they also serve Chinese style noodles like hor-fun.
You have to queue to order and pay for your food.

It has been years since I visited Red Ginger at IMM. I am glad that they survived the pandemic. This outlet is on Level 1 at IMM. It serves reasonably good Nasi Padang. Customer service is average, but hey, this is not a Michelin-style restaurant, so I can cut them some slack. I had the rice with begedil, chicken wing, cereal fish, and fish cake with curry sauce. The quality is decent, and the chili is good. I had the kopi, and it is nothing spectacular. One setback is that it is rather pricey. This may explain why there are higher expectations for the food. Nevertheless, it is a good place for a meal, even at a reasonably pricey rate. Give them a try for the food.

We were here on the 1st day of CNY. The nasi padang had a decent selection of dishes, and the mee rebus was delicious too!

I was here in IMM to get some items for an overseas trip, and had mee siam and chicken briyani for lunch. I was attracted by their food display, especially their Nasi Padang! I will definitely be back to try other dishes!

The food here is really delicious. My partner and I walked past and I instantly smelled the fragrance of curry in the air.
We settled down, and I went to order for both of us. We saw there was a promotion on fish head curry, so we got that set and some à la carte dishes along with it.
The dishes were great, but the star was the fish head curry, which was very fragrant. Its taste was very Peranakan style, heavy on spices with a hint of Assam flavors. A bit like Indian curry but less heavy. Another great dish was the Mee Rebus, cooked to perfection. The noodles weren't too soggy and were served with very palatable gravy. There was also a choice to add on satay, and I must say the satay was worth getting. The teh tarik was also one of the best. It was quite sweet, so people who prefer less sweet drinks might want to ask for less sugar.
The ambiance of the place was like a small restaurant; while there was no table service, the price made it worthwhile. Anyone who is nearby should give it a try.

A Hidden Gem for Hearty Malay Comfort Food
Stumbled into Red Ginger Café at just the right time: no queue, quick service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Within minutes, the place filled up, so I was lucky!
The nasi padang was fantastic — a generous, well-balanced plate with crispy fried fish, rich curry gravy, omelette, long beans, and a side of tofu. Everything was flavourful and fresh. Paired it with a smooth, perfectly pulled cup of teh tarik that hit all the right notes.
Service was fast and friendly, and the setup felt clean and well-run. Great value for money too. Red Ginger delivers whether you’re craving a full meal or just a kopi break. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!

A Delicious & Value-Packed Business Lunch Oasis!
My recent business lunch at Red Ginger in IMM was a delightful surprise, proving that you don't have to sacrifice flavour or your budget for a quick yet satisfying midday meeting. This unassuming spot delivered some truly delicious local favourites, making it an excellent choice for a productive and palatable break.
I opted for a combination that truly hit the spot: the Mee Rebus alongside the Nasi Biryani with bitter gourd. The Mee Rebus was a well-executed rendition, featuring springy yellow noodles bathed in a thick, rich gravy that struck a perfect balance of savoury, sweet, and tangy notes. It was comforting and full of depth, a classic done right.
The Nasi Biryani was equally impressive. The rice was fragrant and perfectly cooked, with each grain infused with the aromatic spices characteristic of a good biryani. The accompanying bitter gourd was a clever and delicious addition, providing a slight bitterness that perfectly cut through the richness of the rice. The ensemble was completed by a crispy piece of keropok, a perfectly cooked hard-boiled egg, and a generous serving of sambal squid. The sambal squid was particularly noteworthy – tender, with a piquant and flavourful kick that elevated the entire dish.
Every component on both plates was genuinely delicious, showcasing a commendable attention to taste and quality. What made the experience even more remarkable was the final bill: a mere $14.30. For such a hearty, flavourful, and diverse spread, this represents truly fantastic value for money, especially within a shopping mall environment.
The atmosphere at Red Ginger was conducive for a business lunch – it's clean, comfortable, and efficient, allowing for easy conversation without excessive noise. The service was prompt and well-organised, ensuring our meal was served efficiently without delays, which is crucial for a midday meeting.
Red Ginger at IMM is a hidden gem for anyone seeking delicious, authentic local dishes at an unbeatable price point. Whether you're grabbing a quick solo meal or hosting a casual business lunch, their Mee Rebus and Nasi Biryani are highly recommended. It's a place that delivers on flavour, value, and convenience.
